Looks like Jim Rome is taking his talents (depending on your mood) and his TV show, “Jim Rome Is Burning,” to the fledgling CBS Sports Network, according to The Big Lead.

From Jason McIntyre:

“Sources tell me that ESPN has decided not to renew the TV contract of “Jim Rome Is Burning,” and the show will be ending its 8-year run (there was a brief hiatus in 2004) at the Worldwide Leader this month.”

McIntyre could not confirm the news directly with CBS for reasons he claims are tied to a Jon Heyman story he published last month. However, an ESPN source confirmed the news via email, but claimed that it was Rome who refused a new multi-year deal with the Worldwide Leader and that it wasn’t a matter of his contract expiring.

The sources said “Jim Rome Is Burning” will move to CBS and the man behind the curtain will take on an expanded role at the network beyond his sports-talk show. CBS is reportedly planning to announce the move in the near future.
