Timothy Burke over at Deadspin.com brings us a rarity.
“In the game featuring Landon Donovan’s Everton debut it was another American, goalkeeper Tim Howard, who stole the show, scoring a goal to put his side up 1-0 on Bolton Wanderers.
“It was only the fourth score by a keeper in EPL history, but the second by an American—Brad Friedel scored one in 2004. Peter Schmeichel and Paul Robinson are the other two.”
That’s right, America. Tim Howard.
