Relations between supermodel Heidi Klum and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, pop superstar Seal, are chilly right now, if not downright arctic, it seems.

According to Us Weekly, the temperature dropped considerably last week after Seal gave an interview to  TMZ. com that Klum  ”lacked class” because of her reported romantic relationship with her longtime bodyguard Martin Kristen. Later in that same interview he added that she should “at least wait until [they] separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help.”

The singer, 49, and Klum, 39, were married for seven years. They split in January and filed divorce papers in April of this year.

Klum retorted through a representative, saying in a statement, “It is sad that Seal has to resort to this kind of behavior and spread these untruths about the mother of his children.”

The couple share four children: Leni, 8, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2 from the union.

Seal, best known for his hit “Kiss from a Rose,” responded that he was “not implying [his] wife was cheating while they were together, but [he] was merely pointing out that their separation and divorce were not final and they are still legally married.”

Klum admitted to Katie Couric, in an interview pre-taped for her “Katie” talk show, that the ‘bodyguard’ comments had strained their post-split relationship.

“I don’t know if we’re the greatest friends right now, especially because of the things that he said,” Klum told Couric. ”I just saw him on, on Sunday. We were talking and we’re in an okay place,” she said, adding, “”It’s a work in progress. You have to take it one day at a time.”

The “Project Runway” hostess also talked about the difficulties of being in the spotlight during such a sensitive time.

“It’s hard especially when you are in the public eye too. People are always looking at you closely and at everything you do. And they also don’t always see exactly how it really is. . . . I haven’t felt like correcting every rumor that is out there. I’m focusing on moving forward.”
