Reps for “Ghost Whisperer” actress Jennifer Love Hewitt told Us Weekly that her mother Patricia died of cancer Tuesday at age 67.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, 33, and son, Dr. Todd Hewitt.
“She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place,” the rep said of the speech-language pathologist. “They ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
After she and her mother left Texas for L.A. in 1989, Jennifer scored a role on “Kids Incorporated,” which was also home to stars like Fergie and Mario Lopez during its time on the air.
Aside from helping kickstart Jennifer’s life in show business, Patricia supported her daughter throughout her career, attending various Hollywood events and never losing her sense of humor over Jennifer’s acting choices.
After accepting her racy role as a call girl in “The Client List,” Jennifer told People her mom thought it was “hilarious.”
“She was like, ‘So let’s review … For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you’re playing a crack ho on TV.’ She was like, ‘Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?’ ”
