The New York Daily News reports that former juvenile delinquent turned one of Hollywood’s hottest stars plans to right one of the mistakes of his youth. Marky Mark is going back to high school.

Well, sort of. On Monday’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” Mark Wahlberg revealed that he’s enrolled in an online program to earn his high school diploma.

The “Contraband” actor, 41, said he dropped out of school in ninth grade after being sentenced to 45 days in jail for “doing bad things.” Now, decades later, Wahlberg’s preparing for classes.

“They had this new program in Massachusetts where you can take the courses online, so I’m starting this month,” he told Letterman. “I’ve got to take on all the courses I’ve missed so I’m a little nervous.”

Wahlberg added: “I’m going to make it happen, though. I have a lot of downtime on movie sets in the trailer and stuff, so I’m just going to blast through it in eight months or so hopefully.”

The star’s new undertaking makes sense considering his current involvement in Taco Bell’s Graduate-To-Go program, which works to tackle America’s high school dropout crisis.
