Another clue in the mystery of Whitney Houston’s death has reportedly been uncovered by Beverly Hills police.
According to TMZ, an inside source says “white, powdery remnants” discovered by police in their initial search of the late singer’s hotel room have been tested and identified positively as cocaine.
It was also revealed that despite rampant Internet rumors, cops are not currently investigating anyone suspected of removing illegal drugs from the room.
TMZ originally reported that no illegal drugs were found in Houston’s suite on the night of her death, but the site’s original sources claim they were not initially told of the mysterious white powder.
Houston was found dead in the bathtub of suite 434 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11, 2012.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported her death as being the result of drowning and the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.”
Toxicology results also found Benadryl, Xanax, marijuana and Flexiril in her system. The singer’s death has since been ruled accidental.
