Police in Kent, located about 20 miles south of Seattle, had been investigating a local drive-up coffee stand since October. The Twin Peaks Espresso’s brew offers a melding of Starbucks convenience with Hooters aesthetics. But police say two women working at Twin Peaks took the skin-bearing ethos too far.
A 23-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman were both arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with alleged lewd acts that netted between $10 and $25 in “tips,” the Times reports.
The Twin Peaks Facebook page boasts scantily clad women, with one caption reading “working til 9 Enjoy a yummy coffee AND girl!”
Several other bikini baristas could also face similar charges.
This isn’t the first time area baristas have been charged with getting too frisky behind the counter.
Just a week earlier, police in nearby Everett arrested two women and a 16-year-old girl working at the Grab-and-Go Bikini Hut.
“We received numerous phone calls alleging more than coffee was being served,” an Everett police spokesman told the Times.
Those arrests came after a two-month investigation by police.
In Kent, officers are pledging to remain vigilant.
“These arrests do not signal the end of this investigation,” Kent Police Assistant Chief Pat Lowery tells the Times.
