Friends and family of Whitney Houston will gather on Saturday, February 18 to remember the late, great queen of pop.
Services will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., beginning at noon EST. While the funeral is a private event, fans can join in via a live stream, posted below.
The guest list for the funeral consists of 1,500 of her family members and closest friends, including Chaka Khan, CeCe Winans, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Tyler Perry, Darlene Love, Antionio “L.A.” Reid and Houston’s cousin, Dionne Warwick, according to E!. A publicist also confirmed that Houston’s “Bodyguard” co-star Kevin Costner will be speaking, as will her longtime mentor and producer Clive Davis. The publicist confirmed that an invitation had been sent to Oprah Winfrey as well.
Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will perform during the service.
Whitney Houston’s Unforgettable Moments
While the publicist could neither confirm nor deny whether Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown would be in attendance, she did confirm that he received an invitation, contrary to reports from several news sources this week.
Giving the eulogy will be gospel singer Marvin Winans, a family friend who officiated Houston’s marriage to Bobby Brown in 1992.
