Crews at the Hollywood and Highland Center have been working through the night to prepare a one-block stretch of Hollywood Blvd. for the 85th annual Academy Awards this Sunday.

Check out dozens of photos chronicling the red carpet area by clicking here, and be the first to get a sneak peek at what the stars will see this weekend.

Rain delayed the Wednesday morning installation of the famous red carpet, but by 6 p.m. last night, a team of 8-10 workers began rolling the massive spools of carpet down the street. I was on hand to watch as the first two stretches of crimson welcome mat were laid out upon the blacktop, and captured the grand event on video.
