Boys in select markets probably hiding under their beds
What boy doesn’t dream of putting on some tights and taking his mother on a medieval-themed date in public? Enough men and boys do, apparently, for Chick-fil-A to be hosting a medieval-themed, mother-son date night.
Local Chick-fil-A operators have listed their plans for the “Date Knight” on the event website, which has the questionable domain name of MotherSonDate.com. One could be forgiven for assuming this was a joke, or even a promotion for the return of “Arrested Development” on Netflix, because it seems like just the sort of thing Lucille and Buster might be up for if they wanted a snack after this year’s Motherboy dance. But ARL Now reports that “Date Knight” will occur May 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 51 Washington, D.C.-area Chick-fil-A units.
“We understand the importance of mother-son relationships and want to encourage area moms to come to Chick-fil-A, enjoy their son’s company over a meal and have fun!” Chick-fil-A franchisee Erik Amick said to ARLnow.com.
The food will not be free, but the special “Date Knight” activities will come at no cost. Well, no financial cost.
“During this special medieval-themed evening, moms and their sons are encouraged to spend some time together while they enjoy dinner, great conversation and several special activities,” the company said in a press release. “Every Mother-Son pair will also receive a place mat with fun questions and topics to get the conversation started, and a take-home booklet that provides ideas for future dates and questions that both moms and their sons can ask each other.”
Interested mother-son pairs can make reservations online.
