Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday night's preseason game against the Houston Texans, a source told FOX Sports.
The good news for Keller is the source said the injury is not believed to be career-threatening and that he could be back to work next spring. Keller will undergo an MRI on Sunday to confirm all of these initial fears.
Keller, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the New York Jets, signed a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Dolphins in the spring. The team offered him a four-year contract with roughly the same average per season (and more guaranteed money), but he decided to take the one-year contract in hopes of a bigger payday next offseason.
