Fifty Shades of Grey has finished filming. Now they've just gotta edit all that sex.
Author E L James tweeted , "And that's a wrap...," earlier today, letting her erotica fans know that Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and the rest of the cast have finished their duties portraying the popular novel adaptation in Vancouver, which might have you saying, "Already?!" We felt the same way.
"One of us is drinking... It's a wrap," James wrote on Instagram along with a photo of her and director Sam Taylor-Johnson. She followed with another tweet of an empty room with the caption , "It's so empty without you @michaelDe_luca @danabrunetti."
So now, all that's left to do is play the—unfortunately, pretty long—waiting game until we can see the finished product in theaters.
And we're not the only ones hoping for something as sexy as the book. Apparently, Oprah Winfrey is also hoping the film adaptation shows all of the novel's naughtiness.
"I know Rita [ Ora] and I know Fifty Shades of Grey—and I just can't wait for the movie," she reportedly said, per The Sun . "I've read the book and I just hope the movie is filthier than the book. Less talking, more action!"
So will we get our wish?! Producer Dana Brunetti told Collider this past November the film "obviously" has to have an R-rating, but he's hoping to have "an NC-17 version that we released a few weeks later," too.
"So everybody could go and enjoy the R version, and then if they really wanted to see it again and get a little bit more gritty with it then have that NC-17 version out there as well," he explained. "What we're kind of hearing from the fans is they want it dirty, they want it as close as possible [to the book]. We want to keep it elevated, but also give the fans what they want."
And we all know what the fans want.
